This July, the city of Düsseldorf in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia, was once again the focus of fashion. Ten selected labels got the chance to showcase their collections and sell these right after the show to a series of customers and buyers.
The event started with free drinks and a champagne reception to meet & greet with others at the lounge area inside the Glühofenhalle at the the Areal Böhler. It then continued with the show inside the Alte Federnfabrik area with approximately 600 seats and goodie bags for each visitor. The fashion show was opened by Sarah Ksouri and her band, follwed by the latest collections. In total, over 100 outfits were presented.
In combination with a well organized and coreographed show, the event included the "Fashion Platform" concept, allowing the designers to showcase as well as sell their collections presented on the catwalk. The Fashion Platform took place right after the fashion show. To some labels it appeared to be a success as they seemed to have little time to chat but were rather busy attending to their customers. The displayed merchandise did not only included dresses but also the acessories and shoes worn by the models during the show just prior to this platform. Up to 25 stores / labels were present, including Lensdorf and Trinkhallen Schickeria.
YDL Fashion Network has produced a gallery showing some of the evening's collections.
